“The high-calibre and practical sessions offered at the Forum will be presented by a diverse range of climate professionals and practitioners from across Canada who will provide their expertise on how to practically embed equity into a variety of climate action initiatives.
“We are excited to once again be the host city for the Livable Cities Forum,” said Mayor Lisa Helps. This year’s Forum will look at important synergies between efforts to address social vulnerabilities exposed through the COVID-19 pandemic and efforts to increase climate resilience and achieve net-zero emissions in communities across Canada through an equity lens. “Delegates will explore ideas and innovative solutions from Canadian and international speakers on responding to climate change while building more connected and livable neighbourhoods and communities." “We are thrilled to be coordinating the annual Forum in Victoria again this year,” said ICLEI Canada's Executive Director, Megan Meaney. The Forum, taking place between October 3 and 5, 2022, at the Victoria Conference Centre, will welcome more than 250 delegates from across Canada and beyond. During three days of workshops, plenaries and sessions-on-the-move, the Forum will bring together local government staff and elected officials, community members, universities, health authorities, Provincial Government ministries and federal departments. This year’s in-person event, hosted by the City of Victoria in partnership with ICLEI Canada and the Canadian Urban Institute, will focus on equity and climate action.
